Hi im looking for a bit of sensible advise. My partner is 14 years my senior and i am 28 and dont have any children of my own. He is going to become a grandfather next month which means i will be a stepgrandmother at 28. I know i will love the baby thats not the problem its just getting my head around this. Everyone i ask says thats what you get for dating an older man but im just looking for some advice to get on with it. maybe someone has been in a similar situation?

Yes I am, I'm 33 and have 2 DSS in their mid 20s and am just about to become a MIL and a granny (my dss don't do the whole 'step' thing).

I was 19 when dh and I got together and 20 when we married so I was a Step Mum to 2 teenagers when I was no more than a teenager myself.

How long have you been with your partner?

I'm not exactly sure what you want advice on tbh, there really is no choice but to get on with it, but yes, I'm in the same boat. :)

We have been together 7 years

I know what u mean I'm not looking for advice as such its just you always hear ppl say she will think of u as her own grandma n just feeling a but strange about it as not even a mum yet. It's just nice to hear of other ppl doing well with it so it doesn't seem so strange lol
