Help needed to create a Mumsnet Ocado 'bundle' offer (and a chance to win £75)

GeraldineMumsnet · 06/08/2008 11:44

Hi all

You may recall the recent Ocado survey where we asked folks to tell us about their lives in the first few weeks post birth. Using your responses, Ocado is designing a Mumsnet-inspired (and discounted) bundle of products that are perfect to have at home before delivery day comes.

The people at Ocado don't want to assume what your fave brands are, so we need you to nominate them. The brands with the most votes will get included in the final bundle to be sold on www.ocado.com.

We would like to reflect the products you chose in two bundles, one for essentials and the other for luxuries.

Everyone who takes part in this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win £75 to spend at www.ocado.com

Thanks and good luck.

Essential products:

  • Nappies - pampers newborn
  • Dummy - you would NOT put one in an Ocado bundle, surely? But actually the Avent ones worked for us...
  • Colic remedy - see dummies above
  • Nappy cream - the only one you need is metanium, if there actually is nappy rash, Sudocrem as a barrier cream
  • Baby bath - god knows, whatever was on the shelf
  • Baby shampoo - likewise
  • Talcum powder - jeez, nobody uses this any more do they? What with the health scares and mess and all...
  • Cotton wool - hmmm, branded cotton wool
  • Baby wipes - whichever, fragrance free ones
  • Nappy sacks
  • Breast pads - ah, now, Tommee Tippee or Johnson luxury disposables are the best. Except for competitor shops' brands which rip them off: Mothercare and Boots do v passable imitations
  • Cake - something chocolatey
  • Biscuits - lots of good quality shortbread. Or florentines

Luxury products:
  • Magazine - Eve, Red, Easy Living
  • Chocolate - Green and Blacks. Obv
  • Sweets - for me, it would be turkish delight with pistachios no idea of brand
  • Hot drink - fine Earl Grey tea
  • Cold drink - Elderflower cordial
  • Bubble bath -
  • Hand cream -

You see many new mothers won't want smelly stuff, esp if they're breastfeeding.

You've missed the bottle of champagne off the list, surely?

You have also missed off: undereye concealer and mascara. Tube of Lansinoh. Always Ultra Night with extra Wings. Big knickers.
