Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Did your statement come on a Friday?

Following on from another thread there seems to be an uncanny trend. So, did it?

unless there's a postal mix-up.

It's so funny that it came on the day it was supposed to, and the content is even more of a laugh.

Part 2 sounds quite like my child. Part 3 is a string of meaningless sentences that bear no relation to anything on this planet, let alone part 2.

It must have been a mistake due to postal strikes or something. I expect they WANTED it to arrive on Friday grin

Weell it didn't come last Friday, so who knows what they are playing at? Could it be they are too incompetent to use those tactics, or am I wrong about them and actually have a very efficient LA indeed. Monday will tell!

It's 15 days from receipt Starlight - so ignore the date. Keep the envelope though.

If you need more time to analyse it just send a letter in anyway within the 15 days saying that you disagree with the Propsed Statement and requesting a meeting with the Case Officer - no need to go in detail at all. They shoudl then offer you a selection of 3 dates to chose from.
just a thought, could you ask them to email you a copy too, they did for us, made making alterations much easier.
starlight, with the post the way it is at the moment you never know. Dd3s turned up on a friday, the day they broke for 2 weeks easter holidays hmm so much for the reply within 2 weeks!

Anyway, - what are the bets? It is due on Monday. Will it come tomorrow or next Friday?

I have a sneaky suspicion it will come next Friday with the date backdated, so I have less time to challenge/get advice or whatever.

I used to work in a LA. They DO sit around all day drinking tea, under the guise of a meeting about a meeting about a meeting, which will always overrun due to an ambiguous agenda and lead to lots of huffing and puffing LA employees rushing from one meeting to the next in a flustered manner whilst looking at their watch.

They will have been busy all week, with the net production of zero.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]
For a no comment face, , type [biscuit]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
