Had a moan on an email list that its rare to get any help witha SN child and that friends and family kinda bugger off. Some ranty woman then claimed I was offered lots of help but refushed it all. So she said 'oh you must be clear what you want'
So I listed what I'd like [grin} ranging from help with holding dd, housework, someone to babysit my 2 boys while we take dd to Brainwave. That sort of thing. Nice and clear.
Guess how many of the 'you didn't want help' brigade then offered to do anything, including ranty woman....
Go on, guess.....

Just bugs me that people claimed they all were clammering to help when DD was born.
Its possible some of them sat around saying 'gosh how awful, wish we could help'

We did get some vague offers but I always said 'oh, thats fab. could you takeme shopping/buy me earplugs cos dd screams all day/runn us to the hospital for the 98th appointment that day' but oddly enough they were busy. Peachy, can't wait to see you although dd's 24 hour screaming a day wore of years ago so you'll have to put up with happy easy (relitivley) dd now. I held a nonCP baby the other day. Gosh, forgotten they hold their heads up and was all fingers and thumbs!

Happy easy kids- hmm, vaguely remember what theya re (ie before ds3 got obsessed about Cbeebies games and would have nothing to do with anything else except whinge that it wsn't said game that he cant even play alone anyway....)

Still trying to persuade ds1 (14) to brush hair. Its one of his sensory things.
Although whats driving me nuts right now is he can't bear any noise. Some weeks he's more OTT about it than others. He taps, hums etc but should anyone even breathe loudly he starts.
Anyone want to swap? I'll take a Porsche for him [grim]

I could throw in dd in a sort of 'get one SN, get another free' type offer?

Seriously though, am getting fretted about Brainwave. DS1 will refuse to go and Brainwave have said they really want DH and I to go so we can learn the programme thingy. Can't leave the 2 boys alone for3 nights. Only other option is for me to hire a car and drive to Bridgewater and back each day for 2 days but the programme is already costing more money than legs. So all those peple who said they fell over themselves to help out, wish one would offer to come stay herea couple of days and watch the boys.

I'm surprised, BIBIC love it when the boys go en masse!.

if worst comes to worst don't hire a car, see if you can catch th train instead- there's ataxi firm absed at bridgwater station

Will rack my brains for ideas. But surpised at brainwave!
