My son who is almost two and dx with Williams ans Infantile spasms is sevferly delayed but it appears that he is just starting to find things amusing...like sitting on by belly and us doing 'row row' over and over and over again.

This song is driving me INSANE but its lovely to hear him laugh.....!!

Just wanted to share

That's great. . Am hugely looking forward to mine (bit older, bit more delayed) being able to laugh. It's nice to know it can happen, you know?

We had row your bloody boat as a physio exercise - drove us mad.
Great that your ds loves it, there is nothing better than giggling children to make you

Ive tried thinking of some slightly new words just to change it for myself. I went round my dads tonight and he was sat on the sofa singing it....haha.

Louis has been been at nursery all day so didnt have chance to do it all day so weve justed had a few rounds and he was beaming from ear to ear....hearnig him laugh and seeing him expericne and show pleasure was SO worth the wait.....Id wait even longer to hear him talk or walk.

Anniebear- can you believe almost two and about 18 months since I was frantically emailing you about IS....seems like a lifetime ago but Im reminded daily that were by no means out of the woods in terms of the seizures but enjoying each sf day that passes

Do you do "Row row row your boat underneath the stream,

Ha ha fooled you I'm a submarine"?

Makes it a bit different!

My DS3 is three and non-verbal but he has taught himself to sing the Hello and Goodbye songs from Something Special - which is really sweet.

our local library used to do:

row row row your boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

rock rock rcok your boat gently down the stream if you see a crocodile dont forget to scream

row row row your boat gently down the river if you see a polar bear dont forget to shiver

rock rock rock your boat gently out to see if you see an octopus give him a kiss from me

gives a bit of diversity!

Row row row your boat gently to the shore, and if a lion's waiting there don't forget to roar

There's more.....

Row row row your boat, gently down the lake
And if you see the water move, it's probably a snake (sssssssss)

Row row row your boat, gently down the river
And if you see a jellyfish, don't forget to quiver (quiver)

Row row row your boat, gently to the side
If you see a tiger, don't forget to hide (hides)

Rock rock rock your boat, gently to and fro
(rock from side to side)
Watch out, give a shout, over the side we go! (toss child overboard. Slope off down pub. )

local varient with rocks side to side.
rock rock rock your boat gently side to side, merrily etc drifting with the tide.
rock etc gently to and fro, merrily etc over the side you go.

Local varient with rowing.
row etc down to the sea, all the way to exmouth and back again for tea.

family varient with bounces.
ride ride ride your bike swiftly down the hill, -if the ground is bumpy you might just take a spill.
-if you do it fast enough it really quite a thrill
