Spoke to the DLA office about the decision waiting times. The person on the phone said that they are still sorting out the applicants that have submitted their form on February. So it will be a six month wait for me. Shock

Surely they can't be serious.

It wasn't that long when i got it, but that was a few years back.
They probably gave you worse case scenario. They will backdate from when you applied for the form anyway so you will get a nice lump sum!

My dds was back in ten days- I sent it at the beginning of the summer holidays. She has ASD.

They only backdate to when they receive the form now and in fact mine started 5 days after this which was bizarre.

Yes I definitely spoke to someone regarding the child's application under 16 DLA enquires.

I'll just ring then some time to see if they have DS application and how long it would take.

But the person on the phone said that there have been some delays

I'm waiting for mine to be acknowledged, I sent mine off 5 weeks ago. I was told last week that it was a 6 week wait for them to be added to the computer system and then it was dependant on the claim and if they needing outside opinion to when the claim would be processed after that.

I was also told that reconsiderations from early in the year were holding everything up while they did those.
So could it have been the reconsiderations that they were talking get about?

I know a few claims from May and early June have been awarded recently.

I put in a renewal claim in at the beginning of August. I spoke to them last week to advise them of some new information and they told me claims were currently taking 12-13 weeks.

Based on my own previous experiences and from reading posts on here I think the time it takes seems to be quite random and luck of the draw!

How spooky... just got our renewal decision through the letterbox less than hour after posting the above!

So, less than a month for us.

I applied for DS's PIP as he turned 16 in december - still waiting for a decision 8 months later. He had his capita assessment about 3 weeks ago so we're a step further forward.
