Today is the start of dd2's workshop.

She had a major wobble last night, tears at bedtime as she didn't want me to leave her there on her own. Quite a late night as she sat up reading because she couldn't get to sleep.

And now this morning, she is happy and excited - has packed her bag ready to go (a new lunchbox has helped no end Grin), and can't wait to get started. In the cold light of day, the prospect of spending all day every day with her new friends is fabulous, rather than worrying.

I am very proud of my girl Smile

Thanks zzzzz. She's only 7, and has thought her way through being scared and worried, self soothed by reading and talking through, and then gone on to approach it by looking at the positives instead of focussing in the negatives. How wonderful is that?

Yet her school have branded her immature, because she needs 1:1 to talk things through sometimes. I'm not sure there are many others in her class who would have walked in so confidently this morning - a quick flyby drop off from me as I had (severe ASD) dd1 and toddler ds with me too - without knowing anyone there, and not fully knowing what is expected of her, let alone a child with AS.

She really is brilliant.

Well, she's home.

She had a brilliant day Grin

As we got to the car she said 'I kind of forgot about home, because it felt just like being at home when I was in the theatre' - made me well up, because that's exactly how I felt at her age when in a theatre (and still do - any theatre, anywhere in the world, once it get backstage it is just home).

She has declined to sing a solo, as she doesn't want o sing alone (her bloody school to blame for that one - she sings alone all the time at home/in the street/everywhere, but at school, 'solos' are actually duets or trios (eh? Talk about confusing small children!) so that no one gets a stand out part Confused and

The main thing is that she's having a ball Smile

So e days are indeed very good - we've had a
Overly calm quiet day at home too, with dd1 (has been really anxious for a while! and the beginning of the school holidays didn't do much to alleviate that!) and ds bumbling along happily.

If the rest of the week goes like this, it'll be nice and relaxing Grin
