Concerns about DS

I am going to see my GP on Monday as I have some concerns about my DS who is 8. Ive been prompted to take him after talking to a friend son who was diagnosed with dysphraxia at age 10. My major concern at the moment is his handwriting which is pretty much illegible despite handwriting intervention groups at school. He is working at level 2c at the end of year three for all subjects. His reading has improved but still finds it difficult to blend/sound out words, has difficulty retaining math concepts, he is sensitive to touch and loud noises and is very emotional, still cries quite a lot , after falling out with a friend or if some one talks to him in the worng to e of voice etc. His speech was delayed, didnt speak until the age of the 3 , he speaks clearly now but it is often difficult to understand his meaning.
Ive been taking him to Explore Learning for the past year, and there has been some improvement in his reading and maths , but not a lot. The school are not much help, he was on an IEP in infants but the junior school try to avoid putting them on one for some reason. Are the 'symptoms' I have listed above enough for a referral to a paediatrician or educational psych.I dont want to be fobbed off by e GP but not sure if I am over reacting.

Thanks. I'll look at those. There is dyslexia and ASD in the family.
