Dd1 is about to turn 10. She would love nothing more than a little tikes cozy coupe, but of course she is too big. I am googling, but not really coming up with anything suitable.

Bikes/trikes would do (she can jst about ride a bike with stabilisers, and enjoys wheeling round/pushing herself along - she likes the 'ride on' aspect of pushing with her feet on floor iyswim - on a trike at school) but she would love a car most of all

Any ideas? She is average height/weight (about 135cm tall, and weighs around 23kgish)

Would a tractor work? Ive seen a couple of big ones when visiting farms like these www.farmtoysonline.co.uk/pedal-power-for-ages-3-10-years/c94

I'm in the process of researching balance bikes for DS, as he's not yet able to ride a bike. Doesn't help that a couple of the local kids have teased him about the training wheels.

Anyway I have found a couple of options, the go glider and the super strider. Both say up to 10 though so may not give you much room to grow.

Another fun ride on we've found a couple of soft play places are roller racers www.rollerracer.co.uk/, which are big enough for adults (yes I have tested )

thank you. She does use a scooter board at school, and enjoys it.

the bike/roller racer/go kart is an option, but not quite the same (in her eyes)

she has loved ride on toys for a while now - we had to retire her Trunki last year as she is too big for it now - she does love sitting on something properly stable (so not bikes etc - she likes these but sees them as 'work' - too much coordination needed between pedalling and steering etc) and scooting around.

the tractor is a possibility, thanks. I'd need to see one in person, though, as my thoughts would be to remove the pedals to turn it into a foot-to-floor toy, but would need to see it to see if this is possible/practical. I just wish there was a bigger cozy coupe Grin

We first saw the big tractors on a day out to a farm, we've seen them at a couple of others since. Is there anywhere like that near you where you may find one to try out.

From what I remember I think removing the peddles may be tricky, they went through the plastic body of the tractor. The small one we had at home they are simply attached to the front wheel.

Do you know anyone who's handy at woodwork. Something like this with castors rather than steering looks like it would be pretty easy to scale up.

There probably is, but time is a factor - only got 2 weeks to get it all sorted.

It does look complicated to take pedals off, doesn't it? Humph.

The ride on you linked to is exactly the type of thing she would love. Will ask around to see if I can find anyone who could make one - i do know a couple of people, but suspect costs might be prohibitive.

Thanks so much for your help, though Flowers

It might be worth contacting the Cerebra charity about a bigger one of these?

How about this? Not sure if the size, but the company are very good at getting back to you if you ask them for more details:
