sister really low after birth of dd with cp

my sister had a baby girl 5 mths ago, baby girl had trouble breathing when born which has resulted in her having cp
sister coped really well (she is only 17) but now she is low (got tablets off doc)
feeling bit low myself think its dawning on us now
dh and i have my niece each sat for the day and odd nights to help my sister out
sister moving into her own home with her dp this friday which is stressful, she has never lived outside our parents home before but her new home is 2 min walk from parents.
to top it baby is getting teeth and wont sleep she just holds herself stiff all the time and will only sleep sat up
love my niece to bits but how can i help?

Your poor sister I know so well what she is going through as dd has cp.
where does she live?

i was just asking in case she was local to me.
It really is so hard when you get the dx.
it does sound like you are doing all you can to help. I know when dd was ababy i could have done with someone just to listen and to just be there.
One thing that did help was meeting other parents(doesn't seem quite so dark when you know your not alone) has she got a social worker as they might be able to put her in touch with someone in a similar sitution.

i've put her in touth with a friend whos little boy is 2 now and she has friends with younger children all with cp so she has a network
just phoned sister to ask how it went at hospital yesterday (going to find out about upping the drugs for babys fits)they found she has a heart mummor and were in hos for 5 hours having tests, big doc phoned my sister last night at 9pm to ask if they would bring baby in today to see them as results have found something.
bit upset at mo hope everything ok

the valve to her heart is blocked they have sent her to great ormand st hos

docs have found a swelling on the heart
they dont know why there is swelling
if they dont get the swelling down she will have an heart attack
docs say they cant opp as they dont know why its swelling so keeping her in under obbs
