and feel awful

I am struggling a bit to cope with the kids- so want to take all the problems away from them, be a super mumetc

I always thought social workers were for bad people didnt realise this option was available for disabled kids.

For many that know my story and thjose who dont

I have 3 sons. 1@ 4.5yrs and 2.5 yrs old twins- 1 awaiting autism dx and 1 development delay and dyspraxia.

I feel ds1(4.5) gets left out due to the twins conditions, and fights for attention too. All our time is taken by hospital appts etc.

If they would deffo confirm dx i feel it would be easier to deal with

Am I bad for asking for a social worker?

of course you're not being bad asking for a social worker, you've got heaps to cope with and they might be able to get you some help, xx

No, you're not bad for asking for a social worker. You are a caring and loving mum who is asking for support. I hope you get the right support for you and your family.

You are absolutely RIGHT to ask for a social worker. Soc Svs have disabled children's teams just for people like us! And they can offer a lot of support. It may take time and effort to get into the system and get what you need, but its well worth it.

BTW, keep an eye on how long they take from your request to completing the assessment (its called a Child In Need assessment, don't be put off by the name). There is a set time they have to respond but I don't know what it is...... Also ask for a Carer's Assessment.
