Feeling so happy about DS1

Hi

Just wanted to say how lucky I've been feeling lately to have DS1 in my life. A few people have commented recently on how well-behaved both boys are, and I really have to remind my self what hard hard work it used to be with DS1 and what a long way we have come (it's still hard but not in the way it used to be).

Went to a fete today and DS1 did "apple ducking" (well, just pulled all the apples out of the bucket and threw them back in again, squealing with delight each time they landed and splashed but no-one seemed to mind!) and he then wandered around looking at all the stalls and giggling his head off at anything and everything. He did get tired and upset in the end and had a bit of a tantrum but again I was reminded of what a regular occurrence they used to be and how infrequently they happen nowadays. He is generally a really happy child these days whereas he used to cry so much. Also, a year ago he hadn't even taken his first steps and it was hard cos he was heavy and I was pg with DS2 -it was so lovely to see him running around today(and having to chase him!). He is nearly 4 btw and has GDD. He still has no speech, but yesterday DH was pushing him on the swing and he was so excited he suddenly shouted "wheeeeeee!"

Thanks everyone. This is a fantastic forum for support when there are problems but it is nice to just be feeling okay and accepting about everything sometimes too!
