Well we took 2 buses into Wimbledon and went to build a bear factory. It was so sweet. Dd built her own bear, put the heart and stuffing in. They then fluff up the fur and help with the birth certificate. Dd chose a brown bear and it is wearing a tiny mini skirt, sparkly red shoes and a white t- shirt. She even has a little leather handbag.
We then had lunch and took 2 buses home. Thing is we never take buses as the car was always easier but it is something dd has been dying to do and as ds is away and dh was at work I think she deserved a treat.
She was an absolute super star the whole way there and back.
I am so proud of just how far dd has come. To even contemplate getting on 1 bus this time last year was just a complete no, no. Here I am spending some lovely girly time with my little girl.
Feel so happy today
Although the £30 price tag for the bear was a bit gutting but actually I really didn't mind paying it because I think she has deserved it!

What a lovely day for you and your dd That little bear does sound pricey but what lovely memories you'll have when you look at that bear in years to some.

She called the bear Fluffy

Do you know fluffy's knickers were £3

I could get 2 pairs from Primark for myself for that

Sounds like you had a fantastic time BH . My 2 dd's love the build a bear factory (unfortunately moneywise ). We went to one last week for their yearly excursion to buy clothes for their bears. Spent a ridiculous amount of money on teeny tiny clothes but the sheer joy on their faces in the shop and at home putting them on makes it all worthwhile. Or am I just soft ?

Polgara ~ I have always been a girly girl, pink being my favourite colour. So I love to give dd any chance I can to buy anything remotely pink, sparkly etc and luckily she loves it just as much as me
Her new love is going into clothes shops and trying things on. I am actually really impressed as she has a good eye for things that match and always seems to pick up the exact size that she needs

Oh BH, that's soooo nice to hear! Glad you and DD had such a lovely and successful day (but at the £3 teddy knicks!)

It sounds like a wonderful day, BH.

I didn't even know they made mini-skirts and knickers for bears (presumably the best thing for a bear bum, eh? )

Lovely to read. I have been feeling the same about my DS today - in fact decided to do a separate post!

Aww thanks everyone

It just shows how far we have come I guess.

Dd will always be different and I accept that but her behaviour was so bad at one stage it was almost impossible for us to do anything "normal"

To sit and have pizza with her is such an acheivement for us and it's little things like that which mean so much to me

Once I get my camera up and running I will post a picture of fluffy, she is gorgeous.
