Thinking of moving to Somerset (Wedmore/Mark/Wells area) Anyone know what SN provision is like there ?

We are thinking of moving back to Somerset for various reasons. DD (7) has dyspraxia and hypermobility. She is currently on School Action Plus, has an IEP and has one on one help with the SENCO. She's about to have another course of OT & Physio shortly and I know we have been really lucky with how easily help is available. We'd be looking at the Wedmore/Mark/Wells area, does anyone have any experience of what SN provision is like there? Many thanks.

why don't you do an internet search on special needs in the area you're thinking of, get a list of relevant phone numbers and give people a ring. That's what I did when we wanted to move to a different area and I found a lot of people very helpful and honest. Unfortunately we discovered we were already living in one of the best areas!

Just a thought - BIBIC is really close to that area - I am sure someone there would be happy to let you know what they know of provision in the area.

Ohhh missed this, sorry. We moved away from there last year (Bridgwater).

Honestly? BIBIC is in bridgwater and of course are fab, as is the Brainwave Foundation which is kinda similar. OT / Physio seems OK, but the Paediatrics (a year ago) seemed rather- well, not good, shall we say. Some of my home start famillies would ahve put it stronger LOL.

there are a few good schools there with SN units, and certainly I'd be more inclined for Wells than Wedmore just on the size of place issue.

et me knw if there is any specific info you would like, as I still ahev contacts there
