My Ds has been away all weekend he has come home the same as we sent him, relaxed..happy and he enjoyed his time there. He was greeted by a lovely lady who told him step by step what was going to happen that day and encouraged to do the things he was unsure of eg. climbing the wall. Why oh why can't it be the same when he goes to school?? They see what we see (at beavers) a kind, helpful, caring little boy..I wish the school would see this too...it makes me so sad it really does...

Just wanted to say that really...We are so proud of him and what he has done this weekend and so are the leaders at beavers but this just doesn't seem to happen at school Sad.

Glad he had a lovely time but I have been a primary school teacher and a Beaver leader and it is much easier as a Beaver leader- much easier.
It is difficult to comment on the school but do they have enough staff? Does he have his own TA? Does he have an IEP? I would go back and get an appointment with the SENCO and discuss it all for next year and hope that he has a better class.

What you have to remember is at school he is having to do stuff he doesn't want to do. There are far more changes and info to take in for him.. Lovely that Beavers were so positive and that he had a great time. All that will help his self confidence.
