Class teacher is driving me bonkers! HELP!

My 5 year old's class teacher has arranged a class 'trip' to the local park on the exact day that my ds is due to be observed by the ed psyche. She also thinks my ds's problems are 'not that bad', when she follows him around at all times, sits with him, and basically glues herself to his side while rest of class is taught by lsa, I only found this out at parent's evening. The meeting with ed psyche was arranged 3 or 4 weeks ago, this trip seems to have been arranged in the past few days.
Surely this must be against cop or something. She is generally unco-operative in other ways, and denies that my son's problems merit any kind of assesment.
What shall I do?

May I ask why the EP is observing your ds. What dx does he have or do you think he may have? And, is the EP a LEA one because if they are, then the EP would have booked the time with the school so the trip to the park may be happening either before or after the assessment.

Hi Candlewax. The ep is an lea one, and is observing my ds because he has as. I am meeting the form teacher tomorrow and will try not to go mad. It is a very important observation to decide how to go forward into next September, because the senco and myself think my ds is getting worse, more aggressive, and needs much more structure. The class teacher is apparently happy for my ds to shout at her(Ihave witnessed this), all other lsa's can't cope with him (they now have two just for him), and even with two lsa's the teacher has to be involved to a high degree.
The observation is extremely important.
I am going to demand that she changes the day of the trip, it is only a local park. The ep needs to observe my ds with the rest of class. I am so mad. I have a dla tribunal on the same day, and me and dh have had to do huge re-arranging to do both on the day and not have delays. We have already sorted out childcare, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr am so mad I have another ds with autism, don't these people realise how complicated out lives are!

How did the meeting go Deeeja?

I remember my ds being observed by an EP on a day when he was really ill and the school ended up sending him home. The EP never came again and the report she did was total rubbish and we were turned down for an assessment. This time I employed an independent EP in the assessment process.

Well, I spoke to the teacher, she will re-arrange the school trip, I also complained to ht(also the senco), and she still made it seem as though she is doing me a big favour.

Also, I have learned that my ds is being taught numeracy by the lsa, instead of the class teacher like all the other children. I am sure this is unnacceptable. He sits on his own with her. I asked him and he said it is after every break-time. This does not sound right to me. I have to have something to say to senco at next meeting, what should I say?
