At the moment we have him down for a state secondary school in September. I am so worried that he isn't going to cope and its going to be constant phone calls to go and get him for five years. If it doesn't work out and I decide to find somthing moree appropriate or go the private or boarding school route would I get any help or would we be on our own????

Advice please. Thank you. x

Boarding school?

If he can't cope with regular school how would he cope with that?

Does he have a Statement?

Basically you would be on your own unless you can prove that it is THE best route for your ds. You would have to be prepared to fight for it and go to tribunal etc.

There are specialist residential schools out there that can provide for SN's.

Yes, he has a statement. I was thinking along the specialist route now if he doesn't settle in mainstream.

if you go private you lose all the entitlements listed in the statement - either you or the school would have to fund it.
