Hello, my four year old dd has autism and is largely non-verbal. She receives 15 hours 1 to 1 during term time while we wait for a statement to be agreed. Her progress in regards to speech has been minimum in the last 15 months and am thinking of buying in additional 1 to 1 hours, whatever I can afford. Has anyone got any experience of this? Or would it be best to consider other settings? Are childminders better? Given that the nursery is very big and busy and she goes there full time. And. It's not unheard that we go to pick her up And she is on her own, watching what the others are doing from a distance or playing with water etc without interacting with others. She has a great time and loves going there, but I am concerned that when she is not in her 1 to 1 she is not learning as much as she could, and I don't know wht to do. We have a whole year left in the setting, thank you.
