Dear sir / madam

I am a father of an autistic child (6,5) years old. we work hard to help him every where to get well. I am planning to come to stay in london in coming september just to register him in a good and specialist schools to help him gain better speech and functional theraphy and other fundamentals .
Would you pls help me to register him in good autism school and how to apply.
Kind regards
Abdullah

You need to speak to the local council where you plan to live but chances of getting straight into a special school are very slight. Such schools are not commonplace in UK and places in high demand, most children are educated in state mainstream schools and some of these may have Special Needs units on site. If you have reports you may be able to access SALT etc through your doctor but that will take time. There is a process currently called Statementing (but soon to change terminology) which assesses the level of educational support a child needs , allocates funding for individual support and if needs be earmarks a school with that available. If you can afford to pay for specialist education and/or therapy that may speed things up.
