I broke the chest strap on my Ergo I got a new one from Ergo but, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to swap them.

Can anyone help?

There is a Facebook group called "Sling and Things:For Sale and trade and advice" or something similar, I'm sure someone there could help you.

I have no idea, sorry!

I would have thought you would need to fully undo the shoulder straps and pull them right through their buckles, slide the chest strap onto each side strap and then re-buckle the side straps again?

The original chest straps are sewn in. Do I cut them off? How do I securely attach the new chest strap given it won't be sewn in?

How odd...they are sewn in, I seem to remember that they sort of slide up and down.

Where did you buy your Ergo stargirl? and how did the buckle break? They are pretty tough buckles, you'd have to really hard on a carrier to break one. Unfortunately Ergo's have become so ridiculously popular that the market is flooded with fakes/copies, one of the things about fakes is the that buckles can be weak and break really easily (the other is that the stitching is too weak to properly hold the weight that it needs too).

I just would have thought that a genuine seller would have asked for the carrier back...(I could be wrong, but its worth checking out).

I cracked it in the door frame of the hall cupboard Shock I heard it happen...me being too rough! I bought it from Natural Nursery. Ergo were fab - new straps arrived in under a week.

Oh, that would do it...do you know anyone who can sew well and who could machine stitch the new one back on for you?
