Can you use a baby carrier like an ergo after c-section. I am still feeling sore from the operation site 5 weeks later. My baby dsnt like her pram and wants to be held all the time. Would it be feasible to use a carrier?

Hi Zinher,
I used an Ellaroo wrap when I went out with DS a week after my c-section. No problems at all. Hes 18 months now and I'm using an Ergo. I'm certain I would have used that too if I had it at the time. could you try using it indoors for a while? I know everybody is different but the Ergo is so good that even DS feels weightless now. good luck x

Thanks Charlie. That is reassuring

If you're still sore I'd suggest something soft like a stretchy wrap or a close caboo which you can tie nicely tight and high on your chest, well away from your wound. You'll be absolutely fine to use a buckle carrier layer when you feel ready but a stretchy should be fine until at least four months.

I'd be inclined to use a stretchy wrap for the newborn period, as that distributes the weight a bit more widely (and it was what I used after c-section).

I carried ds in a moby wrap after a c section, probably started at about 3 weeks old. Did practice in the house first thou. Was great when he was little, put it on in the house, drive to where you are going and just pop him in it, no faffing when you get there.
Just didn't work for me when he got heavier.
I tied my moby under my boobs not at my waist, you don't have to worry about any pressure on your scar either, but depends on your body proportions I have found.

I used a close caboo after my section. Sat well away from scar and was the only way I could get out of the house as pram too heavy to take on the rather hilly streets..

I used a close caboo about 6 weeks post section but I'm sure I would of used it a bit earlier if I'd bought it sooner! No pressure on scar at all.
