Which woven?

My dd is 15wo and is happy in her moby for now. Already have a Manduca, which DH prefers (used with DS) but I much prefer a wrap so am starting to look for a woven for when she outgrows the moby.

Can anyone advise me on wovens? There seems to be a huge variety and I don't really know where to start. Am uk based (if climate comes into it)

Thanks.

Neither cheap, but I have a Didymos and a Storchenwiege jacquard weave and love them both. The Storchenwiege has the edge for comfort/flexibility once worn in IMO.

I've tried a few different wovens from my library and own a few. Lots of people have favourite brands and they all have their fans. My newest woven is actually one of the "lower-end"/budget makes - it's a Little Frog 100& cotton (I got the stony opal pattern). It was £45 and came out of the bag already very soft (woven wraps when bought new tend to need 'breaking in' before they are soft and easy to use, and some need more than others). The other upside of Little Frog wraps is that they are stripey, which is really useful when learning as it makes it easy to see which bits to pull/tighten.

Lenny Lamb is another brand who do good value lower priced wraps.

Didymos, Storchenwiege & Girasol are names that have been around a long while and are tried and true. Girasol are known for rainbows, and Didymos have some lovely jacquard designs.

Kokadi, Oscha, Natibaby and Pollora are more recent brands that are also popular and have a huge range of gorgeous designs, but the price tag can be a bit higher as many of their designs are limited editions.

If you want to skip the breaking in stage there is a huge second hand market on Facebook - groups like Slings and Things FSOT, Babywearing FSOT and Affordable Baby Slings for Sale or Swap.

My absolute favourite woven is an oscha alto zen. It's a cashmere blend and so soft it's untrue. Also lovely and thin. My second favourite is my Lenny lamb sunrise rainbow.

My first woven wrap was a Girasol Earthy Rainbow. I browsed a bit, joined a lot of Facebook groups (some of which are mentioned above!), and just went with something that looked nice! There are cheaper wraps, but I really loved this one and knew that I would use it all the time, and I do.

Sizing can be a bit difficult to get your head around at first, but a Size 6 is very popular - long enough to do plenty with, though it can look a little daunting when you first get it out! You Tube tutorials really helped with different carries, and a lot of practicing on the edge of the bed with a mirror (or DH nearby for back carries).
