Slimming World

Is anyone doing Slimming World online?

A few of my friends have had a lot of success with SW but I really don't want to go to classes. Is anyone online? Please can you explain how it works for you and how useful it is? I was wondering if it would be better to go to the first class at least, so that I can understand exactly how it works, then subscribe to the three months online once I understand it. What do you think? (Apologies, I am sure this has been done to death but I can't find anything on the first two pages!)

I'm about to join online! Meetings aren't really my thing, and i'd struggle to find the time to go! I have quite a few friends who've done the slimming world diet (very successfully) so I'm sure I can ask their advice if I get stuck :)

I'm an online member and TBH it's disappointing. I've been a member of various online weight loss sites and SW is definitely the worst.

You do have access to the healthy extras list and syns calculator (not great either but okay) but I think if you have a basic knowledge of the plan and a set of books from attending one class you could easily find your way through.

I don't think I will be renewing when my 12 weeks is up.

I agree with ChesterDrawers - it is definitely disappointing online (compared with the WeightWatchers site). Saying that, I have lost 1 stone in 5 weeks - so as a healthy eating plan, I think it is much better than WW (for me). I think I will transfer to meetings when my subscription had ended.Grin

Thanks very much. Since posting this I have been thinking about doing calorie counting again. I read up on SW, all this free food thing is very attractive - but obviously the free food is fruit ad veg-type stuff, not crisps and chocolate (I did know this). It was saying that if you are not losing weight eating a huge bowl of pasta with tomato sauce (all free) then you need to replace 1/3 of the pasta with salad. Well, that isn't rocket science either, is it?
So I think I am not going to bother. I know what I should be doing anyway - I just don't!!
