I think I'm loosing motivation

I've been on it for 6-8 weeks can't really remember. I lost 5lb during the first 4 weeks. Then it was my birthday so had a bad few days and put on 2lb. Since then I can't get it started again.

I have porridge and fruit for breakfast and something healthy for lunch but for tea I can't help it, butter and milk in potatoes, something I shouldn't have with it. Don't get me started on the chocolate and biscuits in between (sigh)

How do you get the motivation back?

Have you done a week completely cold turkey on the fats?

I was a complete butter addict when I started SW 6 weeks ago and now honestly really don't miss it. Some days its hard not to have a warm biscuit/ cake when baking with my youngest, others its not so hard. Sometimes I just syn it and enjoy every last morsel - no guilt.

I got into butter after low carbing and it just became such a familiar taste.

I've got the buttery fry light which is passable but I went really strictly off the fats for the first week to break the taste habit. I love curry and these have been my saviour as loads of no syn options.

Batch cooking really helps and the slimming world hi life light (2 bars are a healthy b). Aldi do a cheaper version caramel and chocolate bar thats 2.5 syns, 6 for just over £1 so not to bad cost or syn wise when the sugar urge hits.

It does take effort, i asked my consultant to wave a magic wand and improve my weightloss today, 1.5lbs after a bloomin good low syn high exercise week (DH and DSis both lost 5 and 5.5 respectively and have both had a couple of events where they've had a drink etc).

Whilst its effort if you can batch cook and get organised it does fit in with life and has some degree of flexibility that you can have birthdays, nights out with the girls and just pick up again next meal.

Whats the thing they say 'just draw a line under it, don't beat yourself up about whats done. - its done, onward and downwards'.

I did it right for the first few weeks then I started to have a few treats, etc. I cut out all butter, fats, oil as it wasn't free.

I can do it. I did it for a good few weeks before my birthday but it's from then I can't restart. I keep saying right today I'll start again properly but then I just crave crap and then I eat loads and go way over my syns.

I didn't go this week as I had zero money but will go back on Monday, I will have put on all my weight again but I'm hoping my consultant will give me the kick up the ass I need.

I can't batch cook as I have two young kids and it's hard to find the times to cook one dinner without a lot.

I live in NI so there's no aldi here. Which is a mega shame.

Honestly Im still following it kind of, still measure out my healthy extras, have fruit and veg, no fats on meat or extra lean meats. It's just the biscuits and crap I can't get away from.

I need to lose the weight as I'm so unhappy with it.

I'm now wondering would the pill I'm on have any effect on it, as this has started from I started the pill? Or am I completely clutching at straws.

Back to basics & whatever you did the first week, e.g. stay to group, keep a food diary etc.

You can get back on track, just need to find your motivation. You can do it. Smile

You can still have biscuits - just need to factor that into your plan & count the syns. Good luck.

Passthebiscuits have you tried the slimming world hifi bars yet? I have a rocky road every day as half my healthy B, usually a bacon buttie or beans on toast with the other half for breakfast.

Another favourite as a treat is frozen curly whirly (freezing makes it take longer to eat) i think its 6 syns.

I feel I am starting struggle to now and I can feel the school holidays stretching ahead with loads of opportunities to eat badly. I have lost over 3 stones up to now and really dont want it creeping back on. If I can get to the end of summer with no weight gain I will be happy. SW fairy give me strength!!
