Slimming World

Would like to join sw - couple of silly questions!

Wondered if someone might be able to answer a couple of silly questions for me - I'd like to go to a sw group and am trying to work out which one I can make.
There's one at 5.30pm - is it ok to bring kids? (6 & 3) or will this be frowned on?

How long do the meetings normally last? Is it like weight watchers where after a while lots of people just popped in to get weighed then left or does everyone stay for the whole thing?

Thanks for your help!

The kids thing seems do depend on the group, my consultant has a kids corner and if they stay quiet no one cares.

Staying to group, I'd say 30% do. Personally I don't see the point of going and not staying to image therapy. I really like the support I get.

I've been 'on' SW for 5 months, I'm three stone down and loving it Smile

Oh and the meetings are about an hour at ours.

Exactly the same as Storm, we gave a kids corner & as long as they are not running riot everyone is fine.

Our meetings are officially at 5, first half hour is weigh in and second half hour is meeting which means you can be late! About 50% stay

I stay every week and get a lot out if it. 5 months and 3 1/4 st down.

Go for it Smile

Right, ok I'm going to go for it next Tuesday!

I'm very early stages of pregnancy and worried about my size (bmi about 30 I think) esp as have had high blood pressure in both my previous pregnancies and started them lighter.
As it's so early was thinking I wouldn't tell slimming world just yet as they might need midwife approval or something & I'm not even going to go to the GP yet.

I'd tell them, I started this Tuesday (couple of kids were there, one had an ipad to keep her quiet) anyway if your pregnant/boob feeding you get extra allowance. The book also gives pregnant people tips so I'd definitely tell them, just so it can be accounted for and things. If you don't say, your potentially not taking in enough calcium or something other that your baby will need.

Ok thanks, yes I think I will tell them as it sounds like I'll still find out about the proper programme.
I've made a dr appointment before tues so I'll ask for a note to take with me in case it's needed.
I will have to take the kids the first time but will take iPad or books or something then hopefully I might be able to arrange some family help.
I'm really keen to get going now!

How did it go? Have you started SW when pregnant then? I didn't think you were supposed to diet when pregnant? I'm about to start TTC but also want to get away from 31 bmi - so is this the way to go?!
