Can I join, I joined up last week and am in the process of getting sorted. 7 stone to loose somay be around for a long while! Any tips for making the first few weeks less daunting and easier to get into the routine?

Hi. I'm new. (Actually I might have posted before on a previous SW thread but I can't remember.)

I lost 2 stone on SW last year but I've been stalling ever since Christmas. Just can't get back into it somehow.

I'm desperate to shift another stone before going on holiday in August. I keep toying with the idea of trying something else - a fresh approach. Calorie counting maybe. But SW worked like a dream last year. I just can't seem to stick to it any more.

Looking for a kick up the backside moral support.

Hi heartofdixie. Ignore my fatalistic moaning. You'll be great! It does bloody work, and the greatest thing is that I have not put the weight back on that I lost last year.

Slow and steady is the way to go. My advice is to use your syns on a treat at the end of the day - maybe wine or a bar of choc. Don't fritter them away on shite during the day then end up despondant and denying yourself an evening treat.

Still off the wine, 4 weeks exactly. I wish I could say it's helped with dieting, but it really hasn't. I think I've just replaced it with choc biscuits! Must try harder!!

Well done for organising us blondes!
Welcome Heart of Dixie! Only started 10 days ago myself but you'll find it easy to get into the swing of it. Think my main tip would be to plan your meals - I try to plan my main meals for the day either the night before or in the morning before breakfast. That way I know where I am with the healthy extras. Also make sure the fruit bowl is kept well stocked!! Good luck and we'll look forward to hearing how you are getting on! Smile

Hiya,
Can I rejoin? Back on SW after a few months as I've put weight on again Blush

Anyway, first week I stayed on track, lost 5lbs. All happy, happy. I don't expect to lose that every week, target is approx 2lbs. Stayed on track this week .... and maintained. Confused I seem to recall things being very slow in the beginning last time I did SW - seems so cruel when I'm being so good! Any ideas why? I have 2 stone to lose.
I have started working out as well -can that affect things?

Thanks everyone! Can I ask what people have for breakfast? I've planned lunches, suppers, snacks etc but can't seem to come up with a substantial filling breakfast that I can make and eat at work (office kitchen with a microwave).

Hi all :)

HeartIfDixie, I have weetabix (HEB) and 350ml skimmed milk (HEA) and a banana most days. If I don't want to use my healthy extras, I'll have eggs of some sort, with onions/toms/jalapeno/peppers etc or with beans and then fruit.

I tried to do the c25k this morning, ouch! My shins were killing me (they still are!) Then I tried to do the 30 day shred but my legs hurt too much :( I'm hoping when I've lost some more weight it'll be easier on my bones to exercise.

IsaacCox · 20/05/2013 10:08

Sorry HeartOfDixie not if.

I'm going to Tesco later, does anyone know if there are any nice free/low syn foods there?

Right, time for me to stop lurking and join in!
I've been doing SW for 9 weeks and have lost 11lb. So hardly failing off me, but nevertheless it is coming off. That included a 5lb gain at Easter Blush
I need another 3lb for my stone award, but at this rate that's a few weeks off still.
My main problems are 'special occasions', there seem to be meals out, birthday parties, mothers day etc etc the whole time. And I just can't bring myself to diet at these events.
On a normal day I tend to stick to plan fairly easily, and rarely have the second Hexb that breast feeding allows me to have.
Well done to all others who seem to be doing so well.

Hi everyone, I have been on sw for seven weeks and lost a total of 6pounds Blush I didn't go last week at all, just can't seem to stick to it the last two weeks, had found it ok till then though.

I think I lost track a bit with events too, every weekend there seems to be something and I think it's counteracting my good work in the week. I am determined to get back with it this week so going to stay to group I think.

Wow well done! I think sticking to it is the thing but it does come off. Right that's it I will go back to sticking to it properly, I am only prolonging it otherwise.

Fred free eh?

Only 0.5 this week. Bit gutted. I've been really good and trained 4 times for Race for Life. Was hoping for more. But a loss is a loss and I'll take that I suppose.

I've found just avoiding all social occasions helps. :(

Bit crap of course, but it means I have stuck to this for over 3 weeks now, and never gone over my daily syns.

I went out today, and was in M&S and I was so close to cracking with all the lovely food. Instead we skipped the cafe, went to the food hall where I nearly caved again and spent the best part of 30 minutes calculating fecking syns in stuff. Looked like a pair of numpties me and the other half, with our phones and packs of food. Ended up with chargrilled chicken dry and horrible and salad which had dressing in a pack, so you could leave it off and have syn free. And some fruit which wasn't ripe, and was minging. And it cost us £18. £18!!!!!!!!

I think we are just going to avoid all eating out from now on. Tis crap!

I've got 10 weeks to get as much off as I can - before DP goes back to work from extended paternity leave. So we need to get the bulk of the weight off now!

I had a mint aero tonight. 11 syns. YUM!

2nd weigh in tomorrow and am sorting out clothes for tomorrow. Not going for what looks nice but what's light. Do you think I've lost the plot a bit?! Has anyone here tried cauliflower crust pizza? Am intrigued and tempted to try it (with a few moderations on the cheese) but don't want to waste half hour if my life if it tastes like loo paper!

At my first WI I nearly caused a riot when I chose not to remove my cardi (I've since learned to conform to group conventions).

cauliflower pizza, not sure how I feel about that!

Right, off to chop fruit for brekkie. Banana & custard muller light over a load of berries is yum, and doesn't use my A or B Smile

Well done 3girls! What an achievement

I have been awful this week with emotional eating so have decided not to stress myself and try to get my head back in the right place and get off the gain that I know I will have on Thursday Sad

I've not heard of cauliflower pizza but smash pizza can be tolerable but the best is chicken pizza Grin
