WHAT THE HELL'S GONE WRONG?

My DD has been taking 7oz every 6hrs for a while now. She's now gone to 8/9ozs (sma white)
She's in bed at 7.30 and wakes at 7ish...THAT WAS THEN!!!
She's 12 wks (today) and last night, everything seemed normal until we put her to bed in the usual way, but she just wouldn't settle! She wanted to play all night! IS THIS A GROWTH SPURT?
Also, if she's now on 9oz & draining those bottles, she obviously wants more.. but what do I give her next? HV is crap, but I know there's some knowledgable m'netters out there!!

it may well have been a one-off, what with the clocks going forward, my DS was up an extra 2 hrs last night despite putting him to bed an hour early the night before.

i would wait & see if it happens tonight, if id does you could try her on milk for hiungrier babies

just keep to your routine as much as you can. probably a developmental phase.

YEAH I AM A KNOWLEDGEABLE MUMSNETTER AND I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM........MY SUGGESTION IS PUT YOUR DD UNDER THE STAIRS AT NIGHT AND ENSURE THAT ROOM IS SOUND PROOFED OR THIS WONT WORK, THEN GET YOURSELF OFF TO BED. THATS WHAT I AM GONNA DO.
JOKE!

how was her daytime napping yesterday molly and did she have a nap too close to bedtime? as tiffini said the hr going forward might have contributed.

What is the next milk up? I believe it's progress, but they're not supposed to be on that until they're 6 months! She's too young for baby rice, isn't she?

Her naps were quite normal in the day. If it was the hour, would it really have put her out that much? Not sleeping all night?
What about the greedy little pigs feeding? So you don't think it's a growth spurt, then?
I'm quite clueless, she's my first DD.

my nephew was the same with his milk {greedy little tike) and hv said he could be put on hungrier babies at 3months, but you would need to check first. did not use sma myelf so dont know what next step is.

and yes clocks going forward 1 hour can make a big difference, dont know why but it seems to have effected my DS every year so far.

MMM there are many threads on MN about 12-14 week old babies turning to custard. It's a phase and it will get better. Honestly.

molly she is way too young for baby rice (20wks seems to be the average time with mumnet mums)and it wont make a difference, babies just go haywire for a while around 12-16 wks, just feed her when she wants its and dont refuse her milk if she wants it, except for nighttime do then , but if she gets plenty in the day she should settle better at night.

at 12wks their nervous system makes a big developement which can make them unsetttled, just follow your babys lead and things will settle, it might be hard work for a week or so but thats what mums do
