Let me introduce the child who doesn't sleep (much).

dd sleeps 7pm-7am with a two hour gap in the middle when she thinks it should be playtime. On a good day she'll then sleep for 1/2 hour mid morning and 1/2 hour mid afternoon.
The rest of the time she's happy and wide awake.

She's surviving on 11 hours sleep. She's 10 months old fgs. I realise she's thriving on that, but it exhausts me!

sounds abit like my dd2 5.5 mo except she goes back to sleep after the one or two night bfeeds... try putting your dd to bed 15 mins later each night till its 7.30 or 7.45, or even 8pm? and see if she'll nap longer in the daytime. the night waking sounds like she (or her body clock) thinks the sleeping either side is long naps instead of nightime. it helps to have very definate 'it's nightime cues' like darkness, no talking, no drinks etc but im sure you know that already. have to go, dd2 has woken from her powernap...

During the night she gets as little attention as possible i.e feed, dim lights, cuddle. If she goes to bed later she tends to wake later (she used to do 9pm-9am).
