Day time naps, a battle ground

Ds and I are battling over day time naps. He used to have a 45/1hr sleep in the morning and one in the afternoon. Now he just stands up the minute I leave the room and kicks off until I give up and rock him. He's been up there 30 mins as I type and is still yelling (have popped up twice to check he's not stuck or anything but haven't gone in). Do you think at 9 months he might only need one big sleep and maybe I should put up with him being grumpy and stretch it out til lunch to put him down?

I think at 9 months he should still be having 2 naps per day. But they are all different. Maybe he is being put down for his nap too early? If you feel he just needs one nap maybe you could bring lunch forward and put him to bed around 11;30ish when he has eaten. Maybe he will consolidate his two naps into one longer one after lunchtime. Still think he prob needs two though. hth

He's still a pain in the butt
Finally fell asleep at 11 but woke at 12 and wouldn't then nap in the afternoon, gave up trying at 3.30
Today though has gone down relatively easily at 10 after getting up at 7. Very confusing. Mind you I did stay with him and hold his hand while he dropped off this morning as I couldn't face the battle. I guess consistency is our main problem.
