What TOG rating is your DC's duvet?

My ds is 3. When he moved into a bed 18mo ago, I bought him a 4 tog duvet, because I'm sure I'd read that if that's as big as it should be. Obviously at the moment the bed is too cold to sleep in.

Thought I's be nosy and find out what everyone else used.

We use a 4 tog duvet for DS1 (who's 2) and at the momant we have put a couple of extra blankets on his bed. I figured this would be better than a thicker quilt, as the blankets can be added or taken away as neccesary. Plus, he's like me and can't bear to be too hot in bed. He. like me, always sleeps with one leg out of the covers

On his bed atm, he has a sheet, 2 blankets and the duvet. But his bedroom is akin to a freezer

Hi we had a 4 tog duvet on DD but just took it off as she is shivering in bed. Ive now just put a childrens one on which is 10 tog. Her room is 18c and I always check that she isnt too warm when I go to bed.

Just bought new duvet for dd yesterday. I got a 'double' which is a 4 tog (for warmer weather) and a 9.5 tog (for colder weather). If it's really freezing, they can be snapped together to make a 13.5.

Just put the 4 tog away and he now has a 10 tog on, he is just 3 and his room may be 18 degrees when we go to bed but this morning it was 13 degrees

DS is 3 and has a 4 tog one. He seems OK with it.

How do you guys all know this? We have a house selection of duvets and eiderdowns, mainly inherited from my parents house, and the children get the first one that came to hand when they graduated from a cot to a bed. I think they swap them around a bit amongst themselves, just to complicate things.

But the house is quite chilly and nobody complains of being cold, so they can't be suffering too badly.

I was educated about togs by an woman in M&S .

I think we have the same duvet system as Earlybird so I guess the kids have 9.5 tog ones on at the moment.
