moving from a cot to a bed

I have a 15mth old that I need to transfer from a cot to a bed (new baby will need cot when born in a few months) any hints, tips, etc as to when, how, etc (Have looked at a folding side for bed but can only find ones suitable for duvan beds not wooden framed ones). A further consideration is little one is in a growbag rather than blankets/duvet as he wriggles about so much!!! Do I carry on with grobag or change to duvet etc when he swaps to a bed. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
