Am used to thinking of ds's behaviour as series as 'phases' and not getting too worried about things BUT am totally farking knackered and need advice (or at least sympathy!).
17 month old. Normally pretty good at falling asleep, in his cot, sometimes totally by himself, sometimes with me sitting on the floor reading my book until he drifts off. Good at sleeping through for a good 10-12 hours.
Occassional blips involving a bit of night waking, usually needing to be cuddled to sleep.
Last week or two, taking hours to go to sleep ( and I mean hours, three and half last night) and crying/squawking at me the whole time, demanding to be taken out of the cot, basically wants to go back downstairs and sit on dh's lap/play with toys.
Once eventually asleep...wakes up...after 3 or 4 hours and won't re-settle in cot or in my arms will only go to sleep if I take him into our bed.
Needless to say the second he gets back downstairs or into our bed he is calm, serene and full of smiles .

Wierd! My 17 month old also! maybe there is a 17 month old phase no-one has identified until now! To be fair she has been normal again the last 2 nights which perhaps you don't want to hear!

He's being a right little...pickle...too! I uauslly read a book to him while he sits in his cot, then turn light out and he starts heading off to sleep.

The last few nights he's been grabbing the books off me, wanting a different book, grabbing that one, screaming if I try to take it back...

SO...I'm thinking onset of toddler tantrums/boundary testing etc? But I'm TOO TIRED to have my boundaries tested!
