welcome neilsmum! am glad you have joined as your DS is a few weeks older so you can give some insight into all these phases babies seem to love so much!

Well - thought I would report in, I'm gonna call last night "the good, the bad and the ugly"
The good - After going to bed at 6.45pm DD did not wake before her dream feed
The bad - She did decide to wake at 4 and never really went back to sleep (and so now only having had her bottle 25 mins ago, wants to go back to bed )
The ugly - me this morning after only a few decent hours sleep

Hope everyone else had a good night x

Mornin' all, where is the 'bags under the eyes' smiley eh?

My night went as thus. Bed at 7 awake at 7.10, 7.30, 8.00, lost track at that point until I went to bed at 10. She had her dream feed then woke every hour until 3ish. Was fed at 12.30, 3 and then 6.30 when she decided it was playtime.

What's going on????????????? I just have no idea why she is so unsettled all of a sudden. We used to get a six hour stretch and a quick feed then back to sleep. I'm knackered, she must be exhausted.

For all those joining this thread, our lovely LO's went from being, not bad, at this night sleeping thing to waking up ALL the time. Coincidently they're all 18 weeks and we're hoping that it's a developmental thing and that they'll grow out of it! [cross fingers] Please let us know if you're also experiencing this. I would link you to the original thread but I've no idea how to.

Lockets, has your LO's sleep habits changed recently or has she always been a night owl?

morning all! Well last night started off brilliantly with lo asleep by around 6:45pm until midnight - yaaay thinks me but.......... wakes at 12, 3, 5, 6ish. At 6 i did not get him up to feed and he grizzled, grumped, blew off a few times and went back to sleep. Unfortunately, I then had to wake him at 7am to get us ready for shcool run etc. . Tonight if the same thing happens again early evening I will feed at first waking around 11/12, maybe again at the 2nd waking but after 3am ish I will not feed him but try to let him settle himself since he obviously can do it. It is gonna be difficult but I do feel that I am nurturing this night waking by getting him out and feeding him, Anyone had experience of doing this? i would love to hear success stories..

GM - I bow before you for still having your eyes open! that was not a good night for you - I managed to keep DD awake till 8 and then put her down, she has now just woken so am going to get her back to sleep (trying to extend naps as otherwise she is one hour awake/one hour asleep all day)
Does anyone else feel that all they seem to be doing is dealing with sleep issues at the moment!!!

Morning cruise - I think you are spot on - my good friend is still getting up 3/4 times a night to feed her DS and he is 14 months!!
She has been advised to stop the night feeding and encourage him to eat in the day (which he hardly does) but it is far better to do what you are doing and nip it in the bud....does your DS feed well in the day?

hey all, ds is the very end of july (28th) and is being a nightmare with sleep recently, he went from having lots of 7/8 hour stretches at night to being awake for a feed every 1/2 hour to an hour.

he's still being a right monstor but we did have one night recently where he slept 8/9 hours and he was getting a little better before that. he's teething now though so i'll get back to you and see can i offer any more positve stories once we're through this.

Hello..? I've just started a thread about my 17 mo ( aug 06) ds who is in the midst of what had better be another "phase" which involved a 3 1/2 hour session of trying to get him to sleep last night (A nd previous nights) and subsequently me nearly falling asleep while driving into work this morning...

Is it an age thing then?

This is the thread for me. Somewhere where I can moan about ds sleep issues and not receive a blank glazed expression off whoever im boring.
DS was born 2 aug so hes 24 weeks tomorrow. I think we have every possible sleep prob going, nights and short naps. Im currently trying to get him to go in his cot awake at night time, it seems to be going ok and we just have 5 mins of grizzling before he gives up. Our main prob is the fact that he wakes at 4am and wont go back to sleep. Last night went like this

7.30pm 7ozs ff and bed
11pm - Woke but settled once I laid him on his side
11.30pm - woke again
12.00am woke again so I gave in and fed him 7ozs ff
3am- wide awake and laughing, left in cot.
3.30am - Crying so brought into bed and I bf him laying down, fed for 2 mins b4 falling asleep
4am- woke, cried etc until I put boob in his mouth, he then settled back down until I took boob out and then cried again. This then went on every 30 mins until 7am!!! He has a dummy but at night he wants to sleep with my nipple firmly attached.

oh crap! See how sleep deprived I am!?? I can't even get the year ds was born right! FFS! He is a whole year older than your non-sleeping babies.

I'll get my coat ( and lie on the floor, using it as a blanket, to catch a few zzzz)

Oh. my. God! I am sooooo excited!!! I have just put ds down in his cot for a daytime nap and he has shuffled around, grizzled a bit and GONE TO SLEEP!!!!!!!
