hi my 6 1/2 mth old dd2 has reflux so i was told that when i gave her food it should help her symptons.

but i started weaning her at 6 mths and now she only has about 15 oz milk in 24 hrs if im lucky but this is over 5-6 bottles still.

7am, 1.30pm, 4pm, 6pm, 9pm and 2-3am

i give her porridge for breakfast, veg puree lunchtime with fruit puree after and the same for dinner.

i wonder if im giving her too much food? she used to sleep a lot better on just milk then she had about 25 oz in 24 hours on a good day. i had to wake her for a dreamfeed at 10pm and she then slept till 5.30am for milk.

now i dont know where i am she is up in the evening and in the night. she screams blue murder both times and because of he reflux i think its because she is in pain so i get her up maybe i should try pick up/put down by the baby whisperer but too be honest i dont think she will stop screaming until i have got her up and she has had her milk.

any ideas anyone? xx

I think your LO is taking too large a volume of food with not enough calories.

I had a similar thing with DS at a similar age I think some if them increase their solids too quickly at the expense of the milk they still need so they wake up for the milk in the night (if that makes any sense).

He went from sleeping 11-630 to waking 2 and 3 times a night. I was breastfeeding so no idea as to amounts but the regime which worked for me was: wake up(6am) boob, 8am b'fast(cereal +fruit)10 am milk 12pm lunch (veg+protien )3pm milk 530 tea(mainly carbohydrate eg;pasta/potatoe) 730 boob, I found that this way he took more milk than snacking all day. I think at this age they need 4 milks a day and you need to structure it so not too close to solids. He too slept 11/2 hours twice`a day and ten and a half at night until 13 months. Not sure if this will work re;reflux but good luck.

If she won't drink more milk could you also give more dairy products.
