my dd had her first set of injections at 1pm (she is 10 weeks) and has pretty much slept the whole time since apart from a few minutes for a feed or two. did anyone else experience this? i ask because she usually doesnt sleep much in day and am expecting a night with an awake baby now. do the injections (one in each leg) make babies sleep more if so how long will this last roughly?

Hayles - my DD cried lots but when she wasn't crying she was sleeping, be thankful your DD is relaxed I bet she will still sleep well tonight and if she does wake a bit grizzily give her some calpol. I'm dreading my DD's next set of jabs next week

I would just advise calpol, calpol, calpol. When my DD1 had her first injections I didn't give her anything to start with thinking she would be fine like DS1 and DS2 were, but she soon became irritable and woke on and off through the night - I kept feeding her and because she only wanted short snacks I got a mild dose of mastitis. But she has since had her 3rd and 4th lot of injections and has been absolutely fine with both

thank you everyone. she is still sleeping a fair bit as her awake periods are shorter and shes not as happy on her mat or in her chair very much. gets cranky after just a few minutes. hopefully be back to normal after the weekend.
