HELP - 6 month old waking in the night

Does anyone have any thoughts on why my daughter is suddenly waking in the night every hour / hour and a half. Shes being weaned but is still predominantly breastfed. When she wakes up she cries immediately and I often find her pulling herself on to her side from her back and writhing as if in pain. I've used Calpol to try and settle her, plus gel on her gums in case its that (no teeth yet though). Other thoughts include food intolerance or a digestion problem of some kind (have given diary in the form of fromage frais, cows milk in cereal), she has also had a variety of vegetables and fruit purees. Would be great to hear from anyone who may be able to help. Thanks.

You could change cows milk on cereal to formula milk - as I thought they were not supposed to have cow's milk until they were one.
As my dc are 6 and 4, things could have changed since then.
Just a suggestion, and probably not much help. Sorry. Hope things improve.

my ds (17 wks) is very similar - goes to sleep wit a dummy but stays asleep if it falls out, until much later in the night. If he wakes crying after 2.30 I always assume it's hunger - if I feed him he goes back off for a long time, whereas if I keep sticking his dumy back in it invariably comes out and he cries - think he's telling me that's not satisfying him! Maybe it's the same with your dd.

I've been going through very similar with DS (9 months).

I'm night weaning as I think a lot of his problem is trapped wind - he feeds, gets trapped wind and wakes again an hour to an hour and a half later to feed because it helps him to move the wind along.

He's always been a bad sleeper though, and has always seemed to wake in pain, crying straight away and arching his back. Other things that have helped us are:
following the no cry sleep solution and really prioritising daytime naps, cutting cow's milk out of my own diet (he is on solids + breastmilk), cutting wheat out of his diet - that one really helped, and seeing a cranial osteopath (only helped a little bit).

I've got a GP appointment for him this afternoon to raise the possibility of silent reflux as a cause for these painful wakings too.

I don't know if any of that helps - I'm going to be keeping an eye on your thread to see what other people think because I'd love some answers as well!
