DS just 11weeks old and has been awake most of the morning is now asleep. DD 2yrs and has been unwell but seems to be full of beans at the moment. Normally she sleeps for 2.5hrs in the afternoon. What do you do with them? DS doesnt sleep if we go out. Im sure DD really needs a rest but not sure she will easily be persuaded and then crash at tea time!

I guess we could wrap up and go in the garden but she has had a really bad couple of days with very high temps so I dont know thats such a good idea.

In general what do others do with new babys when the older one would benefit from a play session somewhere?

sling or tucked up in buggy

tbh, we just keep the same routine as before ds was born and he just fits in. but my dd 22 months doesn't really do day naps anymore so thats not as much of an issue

we go out
I too have an 11 week old and a nearly 2 year old!
But I try to do toddler playgroups or meet up with friends in the am so that the 2 year old canhave her nap - otherwise she's quite cranky by suppertime. It's the baby in this house that just goes along to whateve we're doing, poor thing! I try to get the baby sleepign at the same time, it works sometiems but not always. I need the 2 eyar old to have the nap as much as she need it too!

hana - we normally do the same as you. its just now she is starting to drop her afternoon sleep. ds just struggles to sleep in a buggy or car seat. there arent any groups in a walkable distance so the sling only works if we walk. luckily dd has just gone for her rest happily.
