Won't sleep in crib - help!

It may be too son to worry, but can't get my newborn DS to settle at night. Only 3 days old - tell me it will get better!

He's happy to slep if being cuddled, but won't settle in the crib at all. Managed a few hours sleep by putting him in with us but even then he's not that happy unless he's being held. Plus I'm bfing, so feeding a lot of the time.

He's pretty placid during the day - any ideas?

once he is asleep can you put him down or does he wake up?

My DD was like that and it did get better and not just saying that either!

During the day, he sleeps while being cuddled by me or DH. He wakes up as soon as he's put down. Breakthrough last night as he slept with us q happily without rousing.
Do I keep trying the crib or leave it for a while?

i remember mine hated her crib but settled well in her moses basket - all because the crib mattress was rock hard and the moses basket mattress was so soft so i just put her soft mattress on top of the hard mattress and she settled straight away

Tried fleecy blanket under bottom sheet - seems to be working - fingers crossed

Thanks!

Well, we've progressed to staying there for up to 1/2 hr. Still wakes himself up tho, so in bed with us at night. Will perservere with naps and try swaddling, but any further advice welcome...
