I have a 4 year ols step daughter who insists on dp sleeping in her bed and we are shattered.
We only see her every six weeks sue to location but every time she goes sleep fine but within two hours screaming him.
We also have a son three who gets woken and one on the way we need to combat this.
Am I right in thinking that a four year old doesn't really need him in her bed and only way to get through is to refuse and let her scream it out
Any suggestions be fab

I have posted this on your other thread, too.

I would never let my nearly 6 year old scream it out, sorry, let alone a 4 year old.

I think she is probably trying to make up for lost time with her daddy, tbh, and it definitely sounds like anxiety to me. Screaming it out would make that worse!

Something more gentle, sticker charts, rewards, etc?

I agree - sounds like she wants more time with her father. I would be worried about CIO.

Does she feel comfortable in the room/bed she is using at your house? I found doing more cot play has really helped reduced wake-ups in my 10 month old. I think it because when he wakes between sleep cycles he realises he is in a safe happy place.

We been sleep training exactly same as did my little boy and she cried first night but after that no issues so I don't think anything more than habit
Especially as did it previous to them splitting

Well she must have only been a small baby when they split if you have a 3 year old together and babies do cry.

The three year old is not my partners. He mine from past relationship. they been split about 18 month but was quite on off prior. My point being dp says always had someone sleep ob her bed. But sleep training seems to be working everyone slept only bed with no tears now for two nights
