I posted on here few weeks ago regarding my nearly 9 month old who wakes/stirs every hour but doesn't wake for any particular reason. She is still doing it she might sleep for 3-4hrs in the beginning of the night then any time after 10pm she's awake nearly every hour, we really don't know why she is waking, we have been leaving her for nearly 10mins to cry to see if she goes bsvk to sleep but she doesn't she just gets worse. We need sleep! Anyone have any ideas???

Not very helpful if it's always been like this, but a lot of babies start going through separation anxiety at around 9 months and consequently sleep worse. So she could just be genuinely needing the reassurance that you're still there for her.

Is she in your room or her own? Have you tried co-sleeping? Does she take a dummy? If she's gotten into a routine you could try pre-empting the wakeups by calming her when she starts stirring but before she properly wakes up and hopefully she'll go straight down again. A couple of nights of that and it might break the "routine" of waking up if it's just become a habit and there aren't any other underlying factors.

Megs we have a similar situation. DD is 9 months and wakes hourly until we give in and cosleep. She sleeps like a dream next to me, but in her cot needs a cuddle every hour. She goes straight back to sleep once picked up Confused

She used to sleep brilliantly but has been like this for 2-3 months.

How are your daytime naps?

It's not letting me finish my reply, she has been like this for two months or more, she has a dummy but doesn't really rely on it we go in and put her dummy in sometimes she goes back to sleep other times she wakes again after a few minutes, she isn't waking up fully she's whinging in her sleep but the longer u leave her the worse she gets.
Some days she naps well other days she might only have an hour all day, it doesn't matter how long her naps are in the day she still sleeps the same at night.
We haven't tried co sleeping as really don't want her to get used to that.

I can sympathise. DD is 9.5 months, slept through the night fairly frequently until 3.5 months and since then has woken roughly every 2 hours at night. I end up co sleeping with her as I have to wait longer until she is in a really deep sleep if I want to put her into her cot but if I have her in bed with me I can put her down as soon as she drifts off so I get a few minutes more sleep.

I am exhausted and am going back to work in a month. Am going to try putting her in her own room tonight to see if that helps but I am not holding out much hope.

Does she have any allergies or intolerances? Does she look like she may be in pain when she wakes up?

She doesn't have any allergies that we know of, she doesn't seem like she's in pain when she wakes, she seems like she's still asleep and just whinges she looks really tired when she stirs so I don't understand why she keeps waking.
