Hi all. I'm not sure why I've never ventured in here before. .. But needing a little support in our sleep problems. My little boy is ten months old and and has never been keen on sleep (except the first 3 weeks when he was jaundice and not awake long enough to feed! ).

His sleep patterns change every few weeks so I don't want to go through a full 10 month history but I think we've had 2 stretches of 5 hrs since January and the most we get regularly is 2hrs.

He is bf, bottle refuser. We suspect he may have a hint of silent reflux (due to many conversations with many Other mums). He went into his own cot at 6 months when he woke around every 3 hrs for a feed. He then started reverse cycling and feeding more at night and refusing feeds in the day (combined with teeth arriving). At about 7.5 months we "caved" and started Co sleeping which was my savior. Tried creating a sidecar cot but turns out he hates sleeping in our room (no idea why) so back to me and him on the spare bed.

He won't be settled by dh most the time and wants to either feed or just comfort suck. He is not impressed by dummies, left to cio he screams until he is sick and i go back to work in 7 weeks. We've also tried cranial, pupd, changing day time naps etc. He's had the same become routine since 3 months old.

Our next resort is a Dr app next week to look at possibility of silent reflux. Co sleeping is ok but increases dependence on me and a while hoast of other reasons its not ideal. I'm tired of people telling me about miracle cures that worked for them (and then me feeling woefully inadequate when I can't make it work for us)....

I don't know what I'm looking for here! Understanding that some babies just don't sleep? A miracle cute that does work? solidarity? suggestions of how to cope when I go back to work?

:-S
