Baby Monitor worry

Since my baby was born I have always slept in the same room. Now he is 2.5years and I finally feel confident he will be ok without me in the room (he has only slept right through the last few months!). However I have a concern. The monitor (a leapfrog one) has an adaptor like plug, the bit that goes in his room. It always seems to be on the warm side. Usually we only have it on for a few hours, before I go to join him in the bedroom but now of course it will be on ALL NIGHT I am totally paranoid about this, after all it is a similar size/shape to a phone charger and we all get told not to leave those on all night. I am worried it may overheat and cause a fire. I have installed a smoke alarm in my toddlers room as a precaution. What do you guys think? Any info?

How far away is his room from yours. Can you not still plug it out when you go to bed anyway?

Ours is on all night as are our phone chargers most of the time. It will have been thoroughly tested before being mass produced. Have you read any reviews where this has happened? I've never heard of it happening and there will be hundreds of thousands of parents leaving monitors plugged in at night
Try not to worry

But if you are concerned contact the manufacturer to check if this is normal

Our monitor has been on 12 hours a night, about 4 hours a day for 13 months. It's fine. They thoroughly test these things...

My bedroom is downstairs so not near his (long story). I had it on last night but most annoying thing is that it seems to bleep as it recharges itself in the night so in the end I turned it off and I did hear him when he awoke (sods law, he doesn't normally!). I wonder if there is a monitor that doesn't bleep in the night!
