need help with 6 month old please :-(

Please help me.

6 month old use to need boob to get to sleep when newborn.
Around 6 weeks gave her dummy and has used that to get to sleep ever since.
Will fall asleep quite happily in car or pushchair, needed dummy to fall asleep in arms, would then be transferred to cot.
Never been able to have dummy in cot and go to sleep, always in arms first.
On Thursday I threw her dummies away as she has been waking more and more each night needing them back in.
How the hell do I get her to sleep now?
Last 2 nights plus a few naps have been a battle of rocking, boob, jiggling for hours and trying to put her down about 6 times until she eventually stays down and asleep.
On the plus side- once down, she has not once woken and not resettled herself which is LOVELY but I'm really struggling with the 90 minute exhaustion of rocking, boob, crying, patting to get her to sleep.
How do I get her to just lay down in the cot and go to sleep? I don't mind having to stand and pat or whatever but none of that's working. I really don't want to have to give her boob to get her to sleep every time.

Tbh id stick with the dummies and chuck a goot ten to twelve in the cot so she can find them. if she needs the suckling to get back to sleep then its your boob or the dummy.

But the last 2 nights without the dummy she hasn't woken once actually asleep, it is just getting her to sleep that has been hard. I watch her on the video monitor and every now and then she will wake but go back to sleep whereas with the dummy she was waking multiple times a night and needing me to go and give her the dummy back. That's hwy I definitely don't want them back.

I keep googling but just keep finding stuff saying routine etc which she has, but how does everyone else actually get a baby to sleep? I know one baby who gets laid down in the cot, lullaby on and within 5 mins they are asleep. If I leave her in the cot, even on the brink of sleep, she will just roll around then cry.

You could try the pick up put down technique. I was having trouble putting my five month old to sleep (having previously fed to sleep but she no longer wanted that) and tried pupd, which is working well. I do use a dummy for her but some say you shouldn't use any props with pupd.

I was sceptical but glad I tried it.

Just goggled it. Sat outside her door watching her roll around right now. Thanks. Hope it works!

How are you getting on?

Last night I ended up sat outside her door for about 20 minutes- no crying just a couple of moans which I picked her up for and asleep.

Tonight took about half an hour. Cried a few times but picked her up and comforted her then put her back down and got there in the end :)

Thanks for the help

I would stick to dummies. Soon she will be able to find them herself to put them back in.
