Hi - we are trying to wean off booby but are in a habit of baby getting in with us around 1ish and then she has feeds at 5.30, 6.30 and 7, alternating on the boobs and drifting back off. So normally it's then 7.30-8 before she's up. Perfect but now we want to cut down on booby I am wondering if we will just have to get up at 5.30 instead?? are we being lazy?

Many thanks

My 14th month DD is FF and has her last bottle around 7pm. She usually sleeps through until anytime between 6-7am. Sometimes wakes in the night, but tends to be if she has lost her dummy - I guess this is her comfort equivalent to BF.

Until we dropped his morning nap DS would be awake 5.30ish. (Dropped it at 15mo) he's now 18mo and usually wakes between 6.45 and 7.15am.

When we stopped the morning bf at 15 months, it did sadly mean an end to cuddling and snoozing till 8ish and instead up anytime between 4:30 and 7....
Wish I'd carried on much longer!

I night-weaned DS (almost 15mo) about 6 weeks ago. He used to wake up between 630am-730am, now he tends to sleep til 6am latest, 630am if we're lucky, and we have had a few 5am starts recently. I read somewhere that when they start sleeping through they tend to wake up for the day earlier at first, but that eventually this stops. I feed him if he wakes after 5am so until I start stretching this til later, I think he'll carry on waking around that time, even if he sometimes goes back to sleep for 45/60mins.

Almost 17mo wakes up anytime between 6.45 and 8.30am. We leave him to play a bit in cot if it's really early.

Yep, after a summer of disrupted sleeps caused by holidays I just sleep trained ds 14m afresh...tried cutting out the 5/6am feed and a few times he's slept through till 7/7:30 but often wakes at 6/6:30 this morning it was 5:45 so I just b/f and put him back in his cot-slept till 8am! Personally I prefer to spend 10/15 mins cuddling and feeding lying down knowing we'll both be asleep again in no time. I think I will just go with it and hope his wake-up time gets later & later naturally.

Thanks all...maybe we can cut out the morn bf last. Early mornings are harsh after interrupted sleep...must get to sleep quickly! Night x
