I use to be able to put dd in her cot at 7ish and then leave her to fall asleep. NOW she cries if i try and leave before she's fallen asleep and it can take upto 1 hour for her to go off - plus i have to keep my hand on her.
AND she's waking 1 -2 times in the night and iagain i have to go in and put ny hand on her until she falls asleep. If i don't nip this now i think it's going to get worse.
I've tried putting her down earlier and later.
PLEEEEEEASE help

Have you tried the controlled crying type approach?
We also tried a Classical music cd (just as a bit of background to lull her off and so she didn't feel alone iyswim!)
Does she have a routine that you follow every night?

Blackout blinds? Dd always sleeps better if the room is darker!

Hi, at the moment im having same problem My dd is same age as yours, but my problem is we have just moved house. For about a week she would not go to sleep on her own I had to sit next to hear and hush her to sleep, then I realised I had to stop this or a bad habit was forming. I just started moving further and further away nearer to the door then eventually stepped out of the door. I didn't make eye contact with her didn't speak to her to let her know I meant Business, gradually she is getting better, she goes down for naps ok it is just bedtime. We bought black out linings for curtains, that may of helped to make it more darker. Then the other problem is she is also waking in night and waking up at the crack of dawn, im still working on that problem. So don't worry you are not the only one hope this helps!!!
