Cocoonababy in a crib/moses basket?

We are due in December and have bought a Cocoonababy after lots of research and reading great reviews. BUT we're a little concerned about having our LO literally 'on the floor, on a mattress'! It doesn't seem practical (for access to the baby etc) and we don't want to co-sleep Confused

We can't have our LO in the cot as it is on a different floor, so we are wondering if anyone has used a Cocoonababy in a crib or moses basket in the bedroom? We've read a few things saying it isn't recommended, but we don't really see the logic as baby is strapped in. Would love to hear from Mum's who've used the Cocoonababy or just anyone who has advice to share!

Thanks in advance.
Alecia

Bumping this for you as I'm planning on buying one for DC2.

I co-slept with DD and I think this would be a great compromise, so keen to hear from people who have tried it.

Why not put it in a cot next to your bed?

The floor would seem drafty to me.

It would also get your baby used to their cot when they outgrow this.

Looks fab though - wish I had got one 7 years ago for my refluxy baby.

Thanks ladies. I agree, the floor sounds like a terrible idea!

I've been and had a really good look on the Cocoonababy website and it looks like a crib is ok, provided there is enough height between the top of the Cocoonababy and the top rail of the crib. Moses baskets aren't as there is no height.

Now to get a gliding crib, rocking crib or bedside one!? Any thoughts?

Could you still get a cot and put the cocoonababy on the mattress?

Our dds both slept in a cot from the word go.

You could have the side quite high.

Babies tend to grow out of cribs and Moses baskets quickly.

We'd love to do that, but our room won't fit a cot and the nursery is on a different floor to us, so we need something small for our bedroom (even knowing he/she will grow out of it quickly!).

I think we're going to try the crib option, might try and find something on eBay.

That's a shame!!! Think crib is next best option then. Happy shopping!!

Hi,
We're due our second baby in December and are also planning on buying a Cocoonababy as a result of the fantastic reviews. We just bought a bedside crib from Kiddicare to place it in. I've seen them in store and they're fab as they're quite small and easily portable. Hope that helps a little!
