6mo deciding to sleep on side

6mo ds just rolled onto side to sleep. I didn't even know he could roll on purpose - thought he only ever did it by accident. Ok to leave him on side?

My DD did this. She's 8 months now and still likes to sleep on her side. Maybe roll him back and see if he'll stay on his back but if he doesn't then I don't think there's much you can do.

I wouldn't worry about it though, if he's strong enough to roll on his side by himself I'm sure he'll be fine

You can't stand guard night and day. Like, between newborn and teenage they learn to move about.

But meanwhile, I think on his side is probably ideal - the baby equivalent of the recovery position.

My DS does this, and has done since about 5 and a half months. I think it is fine and will straighten out his slightly flattened head

My newborn sleeps on her side and has done since birth! (Currently 3 weeks old) She won't lie on her back even for nappy changes. I was worried and mentioned it to the midwife, who said not to worry as if she was strong enough to roll on her side, she would be able to roll back again. Good job really, as there is nothing I can do about it!

My twins slept on their sides from 3 week onwards, now they can sleep in any position imaginable haha.

A baby's recovery position is in your arms, with their head back and raised at an angle, head lowest (was told during recent first aid training) ;)
