DS is 8 months. Not a great sleeper but slowly getting better. He tootles around his cotbed before going to sleep and when unsettled in the night and I can hear that he is banging his head on the side. I don't think it is on purpose, he just knocks it as he turns/moves around the cot. He has a couple of little bruises on his forehead now from this.
We don't have cot bumpers as I read that they were a breathing risk for little babies, and when babies got bigger they could be used to pull themselves up (also they seem quite expensive!). I'm wondering if I should get them now to prevent more knocks? The problem is DS is very curious and will definitely be interested in these new things in his cot and I can foresee more head banging as he tries to look at them, and he would also try very hard to pull himself up on them, pull them off the cot.
Anyone got any solutions? Will he just grow out of it and learn to mind his head or do I need to do anything?
