So, I thought we had this sussed when I tackled it at 14 months. Blissful between then and now - 12 hour nights at least, sometimes more. We did have to drop all naps at age 2, but she coped well and slept really well at night. Then last Sept, just before her 3rd birthday, she starts waking at 5-6am regularly. We bought a groclock which has never really worked - once she's awake she's up and that's that.
I can't think what's caused it, other than she's in a big bed so when she's awake she knows she can get up. Possibly in her cot, she would lie awake for a while and then drift off again. But I can't put her back in a cot. She has started pre-school, not sure if this would have any bearings? I imagined it would make her more tired. Ha ha ha.
We had another baby last July but she slept fine for three months after he was born so doubt this is the cause.
Or does she just need less sleep at the age of 3? Any expertise/suggestions most welcome!
