What are you guys doing about the time change and bedtime routine. Are you going to continue using the old time and gradually bring it earlier or are you going to do everything an hour earlier and just hope they adapt.

I just do it an hour earlier - my two are 3yo and 11mo. Wear them out so they're knackered Grin

I'm a half hour early by fluke rather than any planning on my part. DS shouting from the rafters though whilst clutching final bottle. Might be a long night :/

My LO 4 months has gone to bed an hour early as his nap times are out today. Hoping it doesn't have to much effect on wake up time as he's an early riser as it is. At least he's happy now he's asleep as he's been shattered today.

Ds went to bed at ( new) normal time although he got up later this morning. However he refused his morning nap today so only had his afternoon one so was getting a bit tired and grouchy. By the sounds from the bedroom it's all quiet but we'll see what the night brings. Although the later start means I think he's had less milk!

Dd2 aged 2 is currently charging around the house occasionally wrapping herself up in my curtains Hmm she has had her bath and last bottle after which she normally flakes out.
I also anticipate a longish evening.
Wine. Anyone?

DS usually takes several infuriating hours to get to sleep, so I've started at normal time and am hoping to be able to start some work before 10pm.

It's been 45 mins and he is currently staying in bed. But still talking to himself.

Any tips for a stubborn 2yo gratefully received.

My DD1 is 6 now so I haven't done it this time, but i used to adjust everything by 30 minutes on the first day and then another 30 minutes the second day. I adjusted the time of all meals, naps, bathtime bedtime, etc. I found it worked really well.

If we had rigid routines, that'd be a great plan, but we're too... lazy relaxed for that.

Although clearly not relaxed enough for DS to actually GO TO SLEEP.

We don't really have a set bedtime at weekends for our DCs (16mo twins) anytime from 630 to 830, tonight they were both asleep by 730 'new time' so should be ok, hope not to hear from them now until 730 tomorrow!

I'm just letting her tire herself out and drinking the Easter wine!

DD2 is still rolling around in bed not sleeping. And I'm stuck sitting next to her until she does!

Thanks for all the replies. LO hardly slept today so he was very ready to start bedtime at 8 which is the normal time and he's asleep now. Lets hope he stays that way!!

I set an alarm for some ungodly hour this morning to get DS up as we had a full on day with Inlaws and I wanted him to have his naps as normal (He does like his routine-as do I...!) Therefore he had an hour less sleep last night so put him down for his normal bedtime tonight. Fingers crossed for a good night...
